Paul is the owner of the Holst Equation. Paul has more than twenty five years of internal accounting experience. With twenty years as a controller/CFO in small businesses ranging from $500k to $70M in gross annual revenues.
Paul has worked with many business owners on strategic direction and has managed all internal accounting functions at a controllership or CFO level. His experience includes internal financial reporting, analysis of financial and operational reports and implementing suggested action items, budgeting, sensitivity risk and opportunity analysis, cash flow management, performance measurement, pricing strategy, maximization of profits, implementing finance controls and approvals, business and CAPEX financing, working with the external accountant and lawyer on business acquisitions, working with external accountants regarding year end Notice to Readers, Review Engagements or Audits, maintain HST/PST/Payroll compliance, managing the full cycle bookkeeping/internal accounting team.
Paul understands the basic corporate income taxes and the effect it can have on the corporation. Paul does not, however do any personal or corporate tax preparation or planning. Paul works with and refers all tax matters to those that have specialized in this area of accounting.
As a small business owner Paul understands the importance of reacting quickly to change and making good financial, operational and sales decisions.
